HORACE SMALL® ANNOUNCES NFPA 1975 CERTIFICATION
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - August 12, 2011 - Horace Small announces NFPA 1975 Certification of its 100% Cotton (non-FR) and Nomex® stationwear collections. Horace Small, provides quality uniforms and excellent service to law enforcement and first responders.
The Horace Small brand was founded in 1937. The company first sold uniforms to the military during World War II. Horace Small remained in the uniform business after the war when the company began selling public safety uniforms. VF Corporation acquired the Horace Small brand in 1999.
"We believe our product offering is strengthened by this critical certification. Horace Small will now be able to serve departments that require their stationwear to meet the NFPA 1975 standard," said Neal Waters, Vice President of Horace Small. "The return to Horace Small, adding critical new products, and now our NFPA 1975 certification are all powerful pieces to our brand's impact in the public safety marketplace."
Horace Small revolutionized the uniform business when he developed the concept of a stock uniform, allowing the public safety service industry to easily and affordably reflect the individual professional's sense of pride and tradition.
"Our product team worked alongside Underwriters Laboratories Inc. to receive this stringent certification," said Shannon North, Sr. Merchandise Manager of Horace Small. "Horace Small's diligent commitment to product excellence is reflected in this NFPA 1975 Certification."
